Invitation to this Sunday’s talk with Kate Cavanaugh

From Wounding to Wisdom

with Kate Cavanaugh

What if your pain is not something to overcome—but something to listen to?

From Wounding to Wisdom is an invitation to explore suffering as a sacred threshold rather than a problem to fix. In this talk, we’ll look at how pain becomes an initiation when met with conscious awareness, compassion, and presence—and how embodied wisdom is born not from avoiding our wounds, but from allowing them to refine us.

This offering is for those who sense that their lived experiences, grief, and tenderness are not failures—but doorways into depth, clarity, and true belonging within themselves.

TalkAbout Discussion – After service enjoy some coffee and snacks then join the TalkAbout discussion circle with the speaker to share your thoughts and ask questions related to the talk topic.

🌈 Childcare and activities are available for children 0 through 12 years. Parents – Be sure your kiddos have warm jackets for outside playtime. 😁

This Week’s Topic: Integration+Action!

Call for Nominations: Local Nonprofits for Our 2026 Tithing

At Unity, generosity is one of the ways we live our principles. Each year, we set aside 10% of our operating income as a tithe—an outward expression of love, service, and stewardship. Half of that tithe supports Unity headquarters and other Unity organizations. The other half is devoted to local nonprofit organizations serving our Central Oregon community—organizations that help restore dignity, strengthen connection, and support healing and wholeness. Guided by our core values of Service & Stewardship, and Community & Connection, we see this giving as a natural extension of who we are.

We Invite Your Nominations via the QR code or clicking this link.

At our Annual Meeting on February 15th, the congregation will select four local nonprofits to receive this local portion of our 2026 tithe, one designated for each quarter. We invite you to nominate local nonprofit organizations whose work reflects these values—especially organizations with a personal connection to our community. We give particular consideration to organizations where our members:

  • Volunteer or serve
  • Participate in leadership or governance
  • Have been directly supported or impacted by the organization’s work.

In past years, nominations have included organizations focused on food security, homelessness, re-entry and transition support, and other forms of compassionate service rooted in dignity and restoration.

How to Nominate

Nominations may be submitted through the Feedback Form on our website. QR codes linking to the form are also available on signs in the foyer. Nominations must be received by February 2 and include:

  1. The name of the organization
  2. A brief description of its mission and work
  3. Your personal connection to the organization
  4. Whether you would be willing to share a few words about the organization before the vote. Thank you for helping shape how our community gives back—so that our shared generosity reflects our identity as a Wild Soul Sanctuary, grounded in connection, service, and love.

Membership Renewal

Hello beautiful community,

It’s time for our annual membership reaffirmation. Please take a moment to scan the attached QR code or click here and re-up your Unity membership. There’s no cost—this simply helps us complete our yearly census and ensures your voice and vote are included in upcoming board matters.

Thank you for being part of this growing, loving community. We’re so grateful to walk this path together.

And so it is.

UPCOMING CLASSES & EVENTS

The Rock of Consciousness

Friday, February 13th from 6:00 – 7:30 PM

The Rock of Consciousness Cat Steven’s Moonshadow Mysticism is a tribute to the legendary music and messaging of Cat Stevens. Cat Stevens’ music carried a rare depth of consciousness, blending introspection, spirituality, and social awareness. These classics and others are set to energizing movement, breathwork and stillness to open up to a deeper state of awareness. This opened state is then carried into a Dreamstate Soundbath for deep relaxation and reset.

No experience needed. All body types and belief systems welcome.

Bring a yoga mat, blanket and eye cover for maximum comfort.

Member Appreciation

This week, we offer deep appreciation for Dave Finch, our Music Director and gifted piano player.

Dave brings far more than musical skill to our community. Through his steady presence at the piano, he creates a sacred container where Spirit can move, hearts can open, and the room can breathe together. His sensitivity, professionalism, and musical intuition help guide each service with grace and emotional depth.

Whether supporting congregational singing, grounding a reflective moment, or lifting the energy of celebration, Dave listens deeply—to the music, to the moment, and to the community itself.

We are grateful for his dedication, his musicianship, and the calm, faithful leadership he brings to our shared worship life.
