Greeting Team
Our greeters are the warm, genuine welcome that makes first-time visitors feel like they truly belong. Whether directing someone to parking, handing them a bulletin, or sharing a warm hello, you create the atmosphere of openness and connection the moment people walk through our doors. You're the first impression of our Unity community. You don't need to be an extrovert; you just need a genuine heart and a smile.
Erin is a pillar of our community, naturally she felt the call to greet new visitors with the same energy and love that she received when she first came to Unity years ago. If you have questions or would like to help the Greeting team, feel free to reach out to her!
Sol*Shine*
Music is the language of the soul. Sol*Shine* lights the fire musically every week. Whether you play guitar, keyboard, sing, drums, or harmonize—your gift matters. We blend simple chants with beloved popular songs, creating an experience where every heart can open. You don't need classical training; you just need love for music and willingness to serve.
Dave Finch has spent a lifetime letting music speak what words cannot. As Music Director for SolShine, he brings decades of devotion to the piano and a deep belief that sound is one of the most honest pathways to presence. For Dave, leading the music team isn’t a role — it’s a calling that runs in the blood and lives in the notes between the notes.
Prayer Council
If your calling is to hold others in prayer and light, this group is for you. Our Prayer Council meets regularly to lift up our community, world, and individuals who request support. We practice affirmative prayer, hold sacred space, and believe in the power of unified spiritual intention. No prior experience necessary—just an open heart and willingness to pray for others.
Kevin brings a steady, grounded presence to the Prayer Council. A nationally recognized photographer and educator whose creative work has long honored the sacred in everyday moments, he now channels that same depth of attention into holding our community in prayer. His leadership reflects a quiet trust in the power of focused spiritual intention.
Tech Team
Sound, lights, video, slides, streaming—you're the backbone of how we share our ministry with the world. Our Tech Team operates the equipment that enables Sunday services to reach people beyond our walls, records messages for YouTube, and creates the visual and audio experience that supports our gathering. Whether you're a seasoned pro or willing to learn, we need you.
Dina keeps Sunday morning running smoothly behind the scenes, making sure every word, song, and slide reaches both our in-person community and our livestream audience. With a knack for systems and a calm hand at the soundboard, she's the reason our ministry travels well beyond our four walls.
Office & Administration
Someone has to keep the engine running smoothly—that's where you come in. Our Office & Admin team handles data entry, scheduling, correspondence, filing, database management, and countless other tasks that allow our ministry to flourish. If you love organization and problem-solving, this is your place. You'll work in our beautiful office and be part of the support system that makes everything else possible.
As Director of Ministerial Operations, Ezekiel anchors the day-to-day rhythm of our community—coordinating staff, supporting our ministers, and making sure the practical side of ministry hums along quietly so the spiritual work can shine. His warmth and reliability are felt in everything from a returned phone call to a thoughtfully prepared Sunday.
Marketing & Communications
We don't want to be a secret! Unity's message of inclusive spirituality, practical prayer, and divine presence needs to reach people searching for it. Our Marketing & Communications team spreads the word through social media, newsletters, graphic design, photography, blog writing, event promotion, and digital outreach. If you're creative and love storytelling, this team needs you.
Dina pulls double duty as our Marketing & Communications lead, bringing the same clear-eyed organization she gives the Tech Team to the work of telling Unity's story. She believes our message of Open Source Spirituality belongs in the hands of every seeker in Central Oregon—and she's building the channels to make that happen.
Earth Care Ministry
Walk your spiritual talk by caring for our planet and beautiful grounds. Unity is certified at the Top Tier of the EarthCare Worldwide program—one of only 19 congregations globally! Our Earth Care team focuses on sustainability, reducing our footprint, creating community gardens, promoting renewable energy, and advocating for climate justice. We combine spiritual practice with practical action.
Colinda's love for the High Desert and her deep reverence for the natural world shape everything our Earth Care Ministry does. From sustainability projects to climate advocacy, she helps our community turn spiritual values into tangible action—reminding us that caring for the planet is itself a sacred practice.
Youth & Family Ministry
Shape the spiritual foundation of the next generation. Our Youth & Family Ministry serves infants through teenagers with age-appropriate programming in a safe, loving environment. We teach Unity principles through stories, art, music, games, and discussion. We offer nursery care, spiritual education, middle school groups, and teen programs. If you love working with children, this team needs you.
Leia brings creativity, warmth, and a deep respect for each child's spiritual journey to our Youth & Family Ministry. She helps young people discover Unity principles through play, story, and wonder—building a foundation of love and self-worth that will travel with them for a lifetime.
Adult Education
Spiritual growth doesn't end when Sunday service does. Our Adult Education ministry offers classes, study groups, and workshops that invite seekers to go deeper—exploring Unity principles, metaphysical Bible interpretation, mindfulness, affirmative prayer, and the wisdom traditions that inform our path. Whether you're brand new to Unity or have walked this road for years, there's a circle here for you.
Beth holds a deep love for spiritual study and for the lifelong work of consciousness. She curates and leads adult learning offerings that meet people exactly where they are—honoring questions, welcoming doubt, and creating space for the kind of conversation that quietly transforms a life.
Kitchen Ministry
The Unity kitchen team is made up of three volunteers each Sunday. One team member opens the kitchen, prepares the coffee, and sets out the food, while two others assist with serving and cleanup. Together, they help create a welcoming space where our community can gather, connect, and enjoy fellowship after the service. We are deeply grateful for the volunteers whose time, care, and dedication make our weekly potluck both nourishing and inviting.
Pamela has been active in the Unity movement since the 1980s, first attending Unity of Corvallis in Oregon. After moving to Bend, she became a member of Unity Community of Central Oregon (UCCO) in 2014. Service has always been an important part of Pamela’s life, and her role in the kitchen comes naturally. Having grown up in the restaurant business and later owning a café in Missoula during the 1970s, she brings both experience and a love of hospitality to her ministry of service.
